Our dogs are living less than half as long as they could
Most modern dogs eat the equivalent of junk food every single day.
If doctors tell humans to eat fresh, minimally processed food for better health, it makes sense that our dogs should not live on dry pellets either. Nutrition is not the only factor, but it is something you can upgrade every time you scoop a bowl.
The oldest known dog lived to 29. There is no magic formula, but real food supports a stronger body for longer.

Chronic disease is stealing years from our dogs
Most dogs will face preventable chronic issues that quietly drain their quality of life. Weight gain, itchy skin, poor digestion and dental disease are often linked to what is in the bowl day after day.
The ultra processed foods we avoid for ourselves are often what our dogs eat twice a day. Convenient for humans, not ideal for bodies that are built for real food.
Think of kibble as fast food that never ends. Same dry pellets, every meal, all year.
Meat by products and mystery meals
Many dry foods use rendered meat meals and by products instead of clear muscle meat. Labels can sound premium while hiding ingredients you would never cook at home.
Extreme heat, fragile nutrients
Kibble is cooked at very high temperatures. Natural vitamins and delicate fats are damaged, then synthetic powders are sprayed back on to hit minimum standards.
Dry, processed, every single day
Crunchy does not mean fresh. A lifetime on low moisture, ultra processed food can contribute to tummy troubles, weight gain and a dull coat.
Why premium still often means processed
Fancy bags and vet words do not automatically equal real, nourishing food. Years of marketing have turned myths into beliefs for dog parents.
